Give over, it was dull as s**te and attracted a small audience almost entirely made up of the same kind of people as the presenters - dull men in dull sweaters and beards talking about dull cars. Now, it has a much wider range of viewers, like women - my mum, wife and sister all love it. None of them would have given a monkeys about TG prior to the new format. We all fully realise JC is an opinionated wanker, but he's amusing and although I or you might not agree with what he says, I'm glad he's saying it. It's far more entertaing, and much less repetetive. Reviewing the latest box from $MANUFACTURER week in week out would put me to sleep faster than four ales and a brandy.

To the sintra perhaps. It actually was dire. So is the competent but deathly boring Vectra. Franky I saw the muckspreader as a far more descriptive assessment of the Sintra than two minutes of dialogue from a pipe-smoking beardie in a cable-knit.

That is called democracy my friend. One man's poison and all that. If I want proper information, I read a magazine or ask here. I don't expect to get indepth reviews from TV, anywhere.

Do you mean Striebeck? And if so, are you aware of that research being described on the Internet? I can find references to the Striebeck effect but nothing else on google or yahoo.

That's the guy, the Striebeck curve, have picked up a few books in the library but I agree, the internet has bugger all. Mention is made in the following but bugger all else.

I didn't see this program as a) I am a caravanner and b) I can't stand Clarkson. However _nobody_ with half a brain cooks chips in a caravan, unless they're oven chips. You go to the chippy.

None of the ones I know are, but then I caravan with other regular caravanners.

Couldn't agree more. The 70's tin box on the back of the Ford Fiesta syndrome. My 2.4 litre auto Previa needs a light foot to keep my 22 foot twin-axle down to 60mph - it wants to go faster. You won't find me holding other cars up.

However I do find this one funny:

Wouldn't it have to sometimes if the combination was keeping to the speed limits? Like on a derestricted single carriageway where solo cars / motorcycles are restricted to 60 mph, vehicles towing (and lorries?) are restricted to 50 mph? Not our 'fault' but making all the traffic slower in general?

That and the fact that many combinations can't accelerate, climb hills and corner as well as solos (except my motorbike towing the Squire D10 that is) ;-)
