My drivers side (offside?) front tyre has picked up a screw and embedded it in the tyre. I don't know how deeply but it's a safe bet it's fully through the tyre.
This tyre has been puncture repaired with a plug (not the gunk stuff) once already, is it safe to do it again? Or should I bite the bullet and open the wallet?

If it's not in the sidewall then it should be fine.
Agreed; for some reason I thought the OP had stated it had been repaired 'four times already'. Think those drugs are kicking in. Yas.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Krycek" saying something like:
Personally, I'd draw the line at two repairs on a general shopping trolley/van/runabout tyre. One repair only on a more hard working tyre such as on a sporty type car and if I was running a Lambo/Ferrari or the like I'd be leary of any repairs at all if I was in the habit of taking the thing up to anywhere near its top end.
