At worst, bent conrods. Depends on how hard the pistons were slapping into the oil.

Does the 6 engine sit at same angle in the host vehicle as it did in its original, just wondering if dipstick would read off because of engine angle.

You'd have to spectacularly overfill it bend the con rods & you'd have more than a bit of smoke out the back after taht :-)

How could too much oil bend a con rod? However, I can see how 7000 rpm might.

You churn it up into the breather & hydraulic lock the engine. 7000rpm probably won't even bother a Peugeot diesel, most of their petrol engines limit higher than that.

Yes - it sits with the same angle as it would in the 306. The head pretty much rests on the bulkhead, with the sump not all that far away from the radiator. I think the oil pickup system for that engine is designed with the tilt in mind.

If there were, we'd have known about it by now. I drained about 0.5L of oil out for him and took it another run. No smoke, no noises, just sheer, unadulterated crazyness. What a car...

Heard Peugeot engine mounting described is as if they fit engine at factory with a plank and a wheelbarrow...

Not sure how that bends a rod. Stretches, it, possibly. Snaps it off at the big end cap-bolts, quite likely, but to bend it the rod would really need to be in compression.
