Neighbours boy bought a 205 GTi with the GTi-6 engine, thing is, it's totally OTT on the oil. I took it out for a shot earlier and noticed it smoking slightly. Didn't take much notice as I thought it was the fumes with it being de-catalysed.
Round onto a straight, floored it, up to 7k in 2nd and 3rd. Straight into
5th and noticed a plume of light coloured smoke on the over-run. S*it! I've broke his car - was my first thoughts.
Took it back, checked the oil. It's about 2" over the max mark and has started on it's way up the twirly part of the dipstick!
Checked for usual suspects of HG failure - seems fine.
What damage have I likely to have caused to this poor chap's car? I know it's not my fault as he'd have ended up doing the same to it...
Before you all jump on the band wagon of "why didn't he check the oil before he bought it", there's a slight discolouration on the dipstick, midway up the mark that looks *really* like the oil level. It's only because when I wiped it twice I noticed the amount of oil on the spiral.
Any ideas, hints or what-have-you welcomed.
