Vastly overfilled with oil..

P.s I know it's not a standard 205. The engine conversion was done by Peugeot Ecosse, a while back.

In whoich case, assuming it's the right dipstick it's probably fine. Just drain a bit out.

I'm 99% sure it is. A friend of mine had a 306 GTi-6, and I remember doing an oil change for him. Same twirly dip stick with the marks in the same position.

That's hardly fair! If you seen the dipstick, you'd see what I meant by the oil level. It had an oil change prior to being sold, so it was pretty clean stuff that was in it.

Assuming the overfill took place at the last change, you've probably gotten away with it. Just drain the extra out.

If it is that new, I suppose you could even keep it for top-ups. If not, dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly manner - see your friendly neighbourhood council's website.

Very much doubt any damage what-so-ever, however be sure to check the PCV system for blown off hoses, and the airfilter incase its pushed oil up into the casing.

If the engine is in good health and not breathing, it shouldnt have pushed the oil out anyhow, despite being abit over filled.

If I owned the car I would be wanting you to pay for any repairs needed through you driving like a total idiot. Do you always show a total lack of respect for other peoples property? I bet you don't drive your own car like that - if you even have one. If I was the neighbour I would be wondering why you were so interested in my son and his car. Definitely suspicious that in my opinion. If you don't know what you're doing, then take the car to a garage. I really hate people that claim to be experts infront of others, then come on here in a panic asking what to do.

Agreed. It's a high performance engine (allegedly) so as long as it was done safely (ie, motorway), where's the problem.

Gd - was he meant to check the oil level before he took it out - along with checking that the right oil had been used - and made sure that the right oil had been placed in the can by the manufacturer? ....and that the coolant was mixed correctly with the right water/coolant mixture ......and that the tyres were at the right pressure with the right type of air.......I'll just shut up and go away now

Just as well you don't own the car, you prick. I take an active interest in cars, and I have a good friendship with my neighbour and his family. His son approached me to see if I wanted a shot, being a fan of hot hatches.

He was in the passenger seat and egged me on to plant it to 'see how it pulled', which I obligingly done. FYI I regularly drive my car like this, and the wife's.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I'm sure there's many that will agree that when I do post, it's about stuff I do know about. I no nothing about GTi-6 engines and I don't know how sensitive they are to overfilling. Had it been a Phase II, Pre-Ecotec or Ecotec Vauxhall engine, I'd have been more informed. Likewise had it been a CVH, Zetec or Duratec engine. You're clearly informed about f*ck all.

There's always one, isn't there. Storm drains lead straight to water-courses, which if possible is even worse than bunging it in the sewage works.

I think he might be trolling, judging from the combination of his later post titled "clutch repair", no capitalization, repeated references to having a friend, and using a comedian's name for his email address. I could be wrong.
