Vectra 1999 ABS toothed ring, front wheels.

Is it possible to replace these rings without replacing complete CV joint? Mine are corroded, and I believe may be the cause of the ABS light being on some of the time. A diagnostic test revealed no ABS faults. Any advice much appreciated, thank you.

condition is not very critical, give them a good clean up.

Corrosion shouldn't effect the operation. Unless to the point where the teeth have disappeared.

what can happen is that the pickups attract metal particles from the disc, that is worth checking and cleaning. but it should show as a fault.

Are these pressed onto the rotor and would require the rotor to be replaced in the process?

also check the reluctor ring hasn't cracked, Ive seen it in the past, the ring cracks, which then opens the gap between the teeth, causing the ABS light to illuminate or the ABS to pulse on braking.

there are two separate bits, the toothed ring (which can be replaced, sometimes they break due to rust build up below) and the sensor which is built into the hub casting. To clean either properly will really need the drive shaft removing. common abs faults are bad connections, vectra also suffer from a faulty control unit (from doing a quick Google.)
