my friend took her car for a new exhaust and cat system,since that day the clutch has been faulty..she has problems getting into gear,and on occasion she says it feels like the cable has snapped,any ideas??she doesn`t want to make a fool of herself by accusing her dealer of damaging her car,and i am clueless

It's pretty unlikely that an exhaust change would affect the clutch - arent they hydraulic clutches on the Vectra anyway? What are the symptons? If the plate isnt separating from the friction disc, then it may just be a case of adjusting the slave cylinder, or the cable if it is cable operated. If it feels like the cable has snapped, does that mean the pedal goes to the floor with little/no resistance? Again, if hydraulic, that sounds like air in the system. Alan.
