Has it got a throttle cable or is it one of these fancy new fly-by-wire jobs?

If it's got a throttle cable, I'd suggest that somehow the routing of the cable has got snarled up and the engine is tugging on it.

can anyone explain why I get a high frequency vibration through the accelerator pedal on a Peugeot 406 diesel this is enough to make my foot go numb and its driving me mad. Bill.1

In other words get it sorted quick!

Apparently it had come unclipped and was being wobbled by the engine.
