Has anyone here actually experienced a Vehicle Indentity Check?
I've bought my car back off the insurance company, it was a Cat C write-off (bent bonnet & cracked bumper). All's now repaired, but I have to run it through a VIC inspection. My understanding is that it's just a check done to confirm the identity of the vehicle, but my garage seem to think that the repair work may come under scrutiny?
Any ideas?

Unless during the inspection a defect that is serious enough to make the vehicle dangerous to drive is discovered, only as far as is needed to determine identity, according to VOSA.

And don't forget to tell your insurers who will no doubt laugh heartily as they up your premium and insist it is also cleared by an engineers inspection report as well as the VIC.
High time this Cat C meant scrap the sodding things.
