Give me some fuel money, or come to somewhere i can get to and you're on :D
Up or down the hill?
Bwahahaha.
Ka vs 405.....
That's a rattly, wheezy shopping trolley vs one of the finest handling saloons of it's time.
My money's on the 405.
Drop by Steve; you'd be welcome to video us from the back. :)
I'm thinking, A68 Newcastle through the Borders . . . so both.
You're not accounting for the fact i'll probly get carried away and fling it into a ditch :)
ROFL :)
I'll use a full take just GETTING there! How about the Scarborough to Whitby road at 6am ;) ?
Having had an RS125 I can vouch for it being "filthly" as regards chucking stuff out the exhaust (like oil - still a stain on the garage wall...). Idled like shit and if you weren't going up the box or down it you sounded like you were riding a cement mixer full of rocks. But it was worth every penny just for the leathers. ;-)

And didn't you just love that smell :) And the fact that it followed you everywhere!
Would have to be on a Sunday morning of course.
I picked the A68 because I don't know it too well . . . so on the assumption that you don't either it would give neither of us an unfair advantage! :)
Needs to be closer to me :) How about next tuesday, at about 12noon, i am going from Uni, we can go from Lincoln to Scarborough, taking the scenic route from the bridge :D

The Ka isn't a saloon. Oh and I think you are being a bit harsh on the Pug.

I've run that road a dozen times or more, nice choice.

I've got work. Dervy has a regular day job. :(
23rd December might be a goer, subject to me getting everything wrapped up.
:)
Hey - its not a shopping trolley! Although it does have the odd rattle (one main one next to the sunroof that they all have - a good smack sorts it ;), it offers a lot of grip and some very nice handling thank you very much :) And wheezy? Well, its not an Mi16, so its not the quickest of them ;)
Just to go off at a tangent, is a Wankel a one stroke? If you know what I mean. hmmm, that could get me some very odd replies.....
Stuart : )
And when they come "on cam". What a rush, and what a noise!

In terms of specific power BHP/L the two stroke can match a turbocharged 4 stroke. In terms of cost it is the cheapest engine to make. But a piston ported 2 stroke is not efficient, duing the scavenge cycle the exhaust port is open after the inlet has shut, fresh charge and fuel is lost down the exhaust pipe. Any attempt to avoid this by fitting poppet valves leads to complexity and the 4 stroke starts to look more attactive. There have been a large number of supercharged 2 stroke diesels in use on trucks.
Was that a derivative of the Orbital? Ford had been toying with it for years.

NSU 2 stroke...... Saab had a 2 stroke.... Revved like a sewing machine. Emissions are the problem ...and NOT ECONOMICAL either
