Wierd Grove In Brake Disk

So there's a hole you can see through?

Judging by your comments on this thread, I guess VOSA took your licence off you.

I've not worked since November and don't qualify for any money from JSA because I've been self employed but despite that, I can still find £57.50 for a set of discs and pads.

Personally, I think my life is worth £57.50. Apparently you appear to think that someones isn't.

I'm surprised you haven't suggested sanding down the ridge on the pad yet.

No wonder you're no longer a MOT tester.

Could be an apple if it's left a grove.

Just keep about another 30% distance from the vehicle in front than you usually do. That will do a massive amount more for safety than anything else no matter how good your brakes, tyres or anything else are.

The mistake was in the original post. Not repeated by myself, so the attribution was incorrect. Maybe not so well spotted. Mike.

Are you by chance the failed HGV mechanic who now works as an unskilled lorry driver?

You'd be guessing incorrectly - (incorrect being a common theme amongst your NG posts) I became a dual licenced aircraft engineer working largely on widebody.

So can I, more if needed, ''needed'' being the operative word.

Your silliness when faced with sound reasoning is pretty close to the mark here (obviously by luck in your case), all new pads (from reputable makers) have an abrasive surface on the top of the friction material to ''key'' the old disc.

Julian.
