Another Miata - R.I.P.

Apr 02, 2007 4 Replies

I just got back from dealing with the police and insurance company. My car was gone this morning, the thief or thieves must have rolled it down the street before starting it because it would have woken me up from just outside my window.

They found it early this afternoon, submerged almost to the roof line in the lake about 3 miles from my house. It looks like they let it roll into a shallow section of the lake.

Insurance won't even come close to covering what is on the car, though some things can be salvaged, I don't really have time to mess with that any more. I did notice that two of the SSR rims are completely trashed when I went to look at it, and the top of the steering wheel was stained wet, so it doesn't look good. Supposedly the Tec3 ECU is sealed, maybe that can be saved anyway.

Should have sold it while I had a good offer......

Deepest most sincere sympathies. It's so sad to hear another has been lost.

If you connect the date of the posting and the complete lack of pictures, you might not be too happy, but then, you did break my heart. ;-)

Oh yeah? OH YEAH? Well..you..you deserved it! :)

I swear I'm such a sucker. My sister and I used to work at the same office. She left a phone message for me to call "L.C." Like an idiot I didn't think Gee It's April First! So I call the number and don't really listen to how they answered the phone.

Me: Hi may I speak with L.C.? Them: Who? Me: L.C. I'm returning a call. Them: Lady, this is Borden. Elsie is a cow. She doesn't take phone calls.

At this point my sister is peeing in her pants she's laughing so hard. I'm an idiot.

I am sorry to hear that. What was the motive? Joy riding?

Leon
