Wow, this surprised even me. On Sunday, I placed an order with Miatamania.com. The next day, I received their catalogue in the mail, and the following day (Tuesday) I received the part I ordered! Miatamania has a California address and I'm in Canada! I wish my own company could be so efficient.
The part was a cup holder which goes on the floor mat edge and it seems to fit very well (actually matches the interior and looks like it belongs there).

need to reach down between the centre console and my right leg, andthis seems very accessible. It works best with a wide cup (the onefrom a Black & Decker coffee machine fits perfectly), and it looks tobe the right size for a bottle of water (which would be even easier toreach). It's nice to find products which improve an already almost-perfect car.
ps: For cross-border shopping (at least US into Canada), using UPS 2 day expedited saves the much more expensive brokerage done by the Canadian postal service.
