Some T1-S questions

I just got my new T1-S's delivered this morning ($59 each...quite a bargain.)

On each tire, the sidewall is marked "Left" and "Right". Am I to assume that this "Left" and "Right" applies to each individual wheel, as it is installed? I'm gathering that the "V" shaped tread, the "V"'s should be pointing forwards, correct?

One more thing; is there a way to decipher the information on the tires so I can ascertain when each tire was made? I'm kinda curious, as I've heard of someone buying a set of these where one tire was much older than the other

3, and he had problems.

Oh, and is there anything special I need to tell the tire guys when they install them on Wednesday?

Regards, H.

Correct. All you really need to do is make sure the direction arrows on the sidewalls agree with forward rotation.

If they pay attention to the paint dots on the tires and wheels, they'll need very little weight to balance them. As with any Miata tire, accurate balance is critical to a smooth highway ride. 28 psi is a good pressure for you.

IIRC, the yellow dot on Toyo's is the low point, and should be matched with the valve stem. Is that not correct?

You recommend 28psi as a good, all around street pressure?

In black!!! You can hardly see black on a black tire, can you?!

Absolutely! Please install the tires marked left on the left side of the car, as seen looking at it from the front.

The driving direction arrows, *also* marked in black!!, should of course point to the front of the car at the bottom where they meet the road, so that they know which way to go to.

Why? If you are backing up, the "V"s would direct the water to the center of the tire. Is that really what you want??

Do the numbers seem consistent?

YES. Tell them to put the tires marked "left" on the passenger's side and the ones marked "right" on the driver's side.

Leon, just finished moving every wheel of Bozo over to the other side.

Our friends in the UK may wish to adjust this advice for local customs.
