Want a Haynes manual for your Miata/MX-5

Hi All

I contacted Haynes via their website enquiring if/when they proposed publishing a manual for the biggest selling roadster. Their reply is attached. Perhaps if they got enough requests they might think about it.

Haynes might not be the best manuals in the world but it is nice to have some idea of roadwheel torques and how to remove trim, dashboard etc. without causing damage.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding your vehicle, unfortunately we do not produce a Service & Repair manual for your vehicle and regret have no plans to do so within the foreseeable future (6-8 months).

However, all customer requests are recorded and used in the decision making process of future manual publications/updates. I realise that this may be of little help to you at present, but I can assure you that your request has not been ignored.

Sorry we could not be of further assistance in this instance, assuring you of our best intentions at all times.

If you need any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

Just get the manual from Mazda. It will be much, much better and pay for itself the first time you use it.

Gee, Hugh. I happen to have a copy of the Haynes "Mazda MX-5 Miata Automotive Repair Manual (1990-97)". Must come from a parallel universe. Probably fell through the event horizon opened up by the Miata going 137 mph.

The Enthusiast Manual is better and costs about the same, anyway.

Contrary to rumors, there are people who have an M2...

I grew up with Chilton's manuals. Never have taken to Haynes.

Contrary to rumors, the M2 is not the biggest selling roadster.
