Plastic windscreen

Is De-icer spray OK on an MGF rear windscreen and is there a safe way to scrape ice off without scratching? I've got renovo window polish which works wonders, but I'd rather it dodn't get like that in the first place!

I've always felt that you touch the rear window as little as possible and to be honest I've never felt the need to use de-icer at all. I clear the door mirrors and use those while the rear clears on its own.

MGFs warm up very quickly and if you direct the two dash vents at the back window it'll clear almost as quickly as a normal car with a heated screen.

It is amazingly toasty in there, astonishing how good it is in the depths of a British winter with the top down and the heating on full. With the roof on I can't believe how quick the back inside clears of condensation, probably better than most heated windscreens. However ice is the main issue. I suppose I'm just used to a car with a back windscreen wiper and perhaps it just shows how crap the heaters are on the other "substandard" cars out there... ;)
