Middle button Question.

Installed a CD changer into the '04 S over the weekend. Works fine except things were not quite as they were depicted in the instructions.

Anyway. The controls are on the back side of the steering wheel. On the left side are buttons to control volume and to select either the Cassette, Radio or CD player (middle button). I cannot determine what the purpose of the middle button on the right side of the steering wheel is for. Nothing seems to change when it is depressed and the manual only addresses the middle button (number 6) on the left side.

Anyone know?

Mine works the same way. I use it fire my Phazer at the morons in front of me (it does not work for that either but it fills a need in my being).

That button was supposed to be for some hands free phone kit which as of now is still not available. Funny I never noticed that it had no purpose myself! NB

I believe the right middle button changes between the cd player and the radio.. if a cd is in the drive. the buttons on the left side switch tracks up or down. dave

The middle button on the right side does nothing in our Mini.

I had heard that someone had a mod to use it to toggle among the three FM bands and the two AM bands, but I haven't see anything about this recently.
