Tranny cooler

Does anyone think it would be possible to use a transmission cooler to cool the Engine oil?

Hi Nate, YES, but take in to consideration that most transmision coolers use the engine coolant, These are either built in to the radiator, or connected underside of the car by water hoses etc, if this is the system your looking at ,,there are three reasons for the water cooled oil cooler,

1, on cold start ups, the water actually warms the oil,, as most engines are designed to heat up very fast, 2, it keeps the oil at a constant temperature, 3, it cools the oil even when stationary in traffic, unlike the air cooled type that relys on air flow, HTH where in OZ are you mate ?? Fitzy

Just buy a minispares 2 core competition radiator, miles better than the standard radiator, you can then play with various thermostats then to get your ideal running temprature,
