I am planning to buy a GTO but I can't find any info regarding weaknesses of this car. Can any good soul out there help me out.

The reason you have'nt heard of any weaknesses in the car is because other than the press release drive of the car and journalist only getting to spend a few minutes in the car no one has had any real seat time in it. You should expect more info on it the closer it gets to the delivery dates.

My guess is that he meant the Mitsubishi GTO, as in 3000GT, being that this is a Mitsubishi newsgroup and all =)
If this is true... GTO's typically have problems related to the transfer cases (recalled), timing belts & water pumps going out, gearbox synchronizers, ECU caps going bad, and spun bearings due to weak oil pumps.

the tranny is a million bucks to fix and changing the plugs requires removal of the intake manifold.
