Any 3000gt owners care to estimate the life of the stock oil pump on a '91 SL? What would be the recommended mileage to replace the original?
Life expectency of oil pump??

In general, the oil pump will last the life of the engine, in the order of
250,000km. That said, if there's been poor maintenance, it could be half that. Best test is to fit an oil pressure gauge, and check for correct pressures. If in any doubt, when the 100,000km belt change is done, pull the pump and check the clearances. Replace the pump if necessary.Stewart DIBBS
