Pulling the transmission on 94 Galant

On a 94 Mitsubishi Galant When pulling the drive axle on passenger side of transmission, shouldn't slide out like a drive shaft, or do they snap out. Or do they come out a different way? Please Help!?!?

on all of the dsm cars (which share a lot of parts with galant), the splines have a snap ring to retain them.
