Check the coolant temp sensor wires.
Check fuel delivery.
Any error codes from the ECU? Is the Check Engine light on?

If it wont start long enough, you wont be able to see if the check engine light is off. Pull the code and find out if it is the cam or crank angle sensor. That year had both and I'm betting one of them is broken.
