James ("James" ) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:
Not really. There won't be anywhere solid enough in the right position for the centre upper mount.
You'd need to add either a very solid bar across the seat back, with suitable fixings to the rear body sides, or mount the belt on the roof - again, with suitable mounts.
If you really need five seats with three point belts, I'd suggest changing car would be a far better solution.
You'd need to modify the seat frame to add a loop at one side for the belt to go through.
Hmm, thanks for that. Gave me a few things to ponder.
I gave VW a ring after they said I could buy a new back seat and a seat belt and swap them as the back seat has a fixing point for a seat belt. Cost is a few hundred quid which is not too bad.
Try some of the VW specialist breakers for a possibly cheaper option.
No, you need to change the seat back as the seat with a centre lap belt will not be strong enough to allow 3 3-point belts.
Thats exactly what vw bods said. I nee d a new back seat which has a mounting point on the rear for a seat belt, and I'll also need to buy a seat for £80 odd. The backseat is £180..
Said it was a straight and simple swap, which is looks as I took the one I have out to see how it comes out, so hopefully the new one will be as easy to put back in, a trial run in sorts.
