Because it's a better option than driving a weeny shoebox ?

That's all that matters then. I'm sure we can put facts aside tho, they tend to interfere with a good argument :)

Maybe not when you say it like that. But unfortunately it doesn't weigh a tonne and it doesn't have 130bhp.

If a Susuki Swift is the latest in 'style statements', I think I'll stick with the flock !

I had cars with 'character' when I was younger. Then I grew up and realised that what I had confused as 'character' was actually just old and underpowered.

Errr not for me it isnt.

Eh?

No it doesnt have 130bhp, but that's irrelevant. It's still 130bhp/tonne.

I like it, that's all that matters to me.

See, there's your problem. You're old.

Anyways, enough of this nonsense, I've just picked the wheels up, and if the weather OK I'll put them on tomorrow and will take some pics for you to ridicule :) Then I'll go get the Volvo, take some pics of that and you can ridicule some more!

If it helps, i'm a fan of the Swift (comparatively), but i am well up for ripping the Volly :)

Heh!

I'm old and I think my car looks its best with lots of brake dust on the wheels, flys on the front and enough dirt on the paint to show the airflow...

A country pub and the gentle pinging of cooling cats completes the picture.

Shines up nice too though. :)

Nahhh, Swifts stomp.

...so do 360s.

The Swift should too. Might even clean it up tomorrow :)

Glad someone has some taste :)

It's the 480 Turbo today, which I know I'm gonna be tempted to keep if its a nice one, but I really cant!

The 360 should arrive in the next few weeks, but need to get rid of the ZX first. It's on ebay now so hopefully someone will buy it!

Good good, assuming it starts and the turbo power lasts till Dads garage I'll get some pics :)

So am I actually, but as I said - let's not let facts get in the way of a good argument :)

GTi's in white with black detailing look quite nice - when they're washed and have nice clean alloys.

Are we actually talking about a GTi btw, can't see it mentioned anywhere.

Course I am

Yep, black GTi with white 'Twin Cam 16 Valve' down the side. I love it.

Was gonna wash it today but I was too hungover :)

For Christ's sake get out there and wash it, if only to make it slippery and lower the drag*

That's the one... :)

Squished insects are an inevitable consequence of a quick drive.

I'm old, the car ain't. :)

I dont think Christ will mind too much if my car's dirty! :)

Yeah yeah whatever. You're just jealous because I now own a Jap pocket rocket, a French hot hatch and a Swedish turbo :)

Actually he probably will, he's a right miserable bastard.

As dreadful as they are, I do quite like ZXs actually.

But as for a shoebox and a Renault, unfortunately they don't stoke my coke :)

They're a great drive, and you get plenty of car for your money. Cant believe I havent had any interest in it yet :(
