Anybody here has a W124 or at least a manual for one?

Muggings left the manual at home :(

I lifted the windscreen wiper up to put something underneath it (prevent it from freezing to the windscreen) and it appears I lifted it too high up and it's 'locked' in the lifted position. No obvious way of unlocking it, so does anybody here know how to do that?

It's probably blindingly obvious but it wasn't to me in the middle of a snowstorm.

I'm pretty sure it just snaps back down. I'll consult the book now.

If it not snapping back by pressing it onto the screen its the latest moment to give it a full greasing procedure.

Remove the wiper assembly, open and demount the shifting mechanism and clean and grease everything.

The spring below the arm for pressing the arm to the screeen needs a bit of grease too, but not so much that it is smearing on the screen.

Just push it down. Nothing will break

Indeed it does. Needed a little more persuasion.

Push/jolt it hard towards the glass. Sounds brutal, but I don't know any other way - been doing it like that for long enough, and nothing's broken.
