Didn't realise that the MK1 Golf GTi is still in production either! (Now known as the "Citi-Golf")

A new 'old' car. Interesting thought. And as for the mk1 Golfs...why? They were good back in the day, but surely how much can you ask someone to pay for old tech?

Because they are sold with low power engines in poor countries, and for in cities, when the the fuel quality isn't as good, or you only need a basic car.
