I suspect the Capri may be for sale soon... I'll do the few little minor jobs it needs, and it'll be up for floggage. Shame really, I love Capris, and mine is damn near immaculate, but it's a shame using it every day, and with the things I've gonna be upto in the next few months the Capri would be knackered whereas the Sierra doesn't really matter and I suspect it could handle it easily it feels that strong. Proper old workhorse. Strong but kinda shabby. Ideal for what I need it for.
I'm sure Pete'd consider selling it in a few weeks, for the right price :-)
Peter
Now I reckon eBay would definitely be the place for your Capri. Take loads of close photos, give it a blow by blow description of how good it is, and you should see it fetching decent money. I've seen immaculate Capris on ebay go for a good price on a few occasions (and not just 280 Specials).

That's the plan, methinks. I'm gonna shove a new cam in it and fettle the brakes, 12 months mot and off it bloody well shall go.
... or I'll take £1200 for it as it is.
You've seen his photography skills, haven't you ;-)
Heh, the first set of Merc pics were taken in the freezing cold, in January, in work, on one of those "credit card" type digital cameras.
The second set were taken by my mate Loz, with a proper digital camera, but he just took random pics..
Yeah, spose you're right..
That's the spirit. Don't undersell yourself now :-)
Peter
you seem to have got a proverbial bargain mate :) has it got the optional AC and abs though? to make us even more green with envy after the 27mpg odd you've got *shock horror that it SO good*

Unfortunately not. it's the poverty spec one.
Electric front windows, Central locking, PAS, 'leccy mirrors, and a heated windscreen. Everything else I've got to do myself. It's not even got the door open / dodgy lights computer thing, or a low fuel light.
It's just an honest old 4x4. It's not mint by the wildest stretch of the imagination. Cig burns in a couple of the seats, the sills have been welded, door cards are all showing signs of life, and it's seen a bit of filler here and there. It's like "World of Stonechip" at the front of the bonnet, but it gives it a bit of charm and stops me worrying about it too much. Rev counter packed in today, comes on if you go round a left hander though, so it'll be a wonky connection. Paint doesn't appear to remember what wax is. I polished a bit of a wing before and it came up quite well. The rest of it has that workhorse look
It is incredibly straight though, and mechanically it seems as good a 4x4 as I've ever driven. Does about 20 mpg round town driven sensibly. Which is enough to keep me happy.
I'm happy with it for £360 quid. Gonna pop some sills on it sometime, and drive it into the ground.
