Bugger, I'm tempted by this thing...

On any of the K04 units.

I know if I get an ABF I'll want more. I reckon an AUQ or another of the higher output turbos is the way forward. I reckon something along the lines of 16V ride height, a stiffer front ARB (G60 / Seat Cupra) and maybe aftermarket tration control. I want to move the handling balance of the car more towards neutral (mine seems understeery, but it's had absolutely zero work done to the suspension), but keeping a reasonable ride.

But the chassis won't take it well. It'll be a wheelspinning understeering mess if you gave it a shedload of torque and power.

On the twin intercooled, K04 turbo ones (225bhp standard) it will.

I reckon a MK2 would be fairly happy with an LSD and a solid suspension set up.

i'd have the golf because the 205 would still be french shit with a big lump and i'd rather have german shit with a big lump

If you're lucky enough to pick up a 225bhp unit, all well and good. But=20 surely most of the available lumps out there will be the bread and=20 butter 150bp ones...

I did. ;)

The bigger power ones aren't that rare, but they do cost more.
