Chrysler GS Turbo 2

Right guys this has came my way and i'm a bit unsure of it

Its a Chrysler GS Turbo 1990 model with 100k on the clock 2.2 turbo putting out a reputed 180 bhp with a manual box. seems pretty good both mechanically and cosmetically if a bit drab

questions

1) Availability of spares if any? 2) cool or gay? 3) is it worth keeping hold of

Two-door coupe, right?

They're mildly collectable, mainly because Caroll Shelby had a hand in developing it. Spares availability should be OK in the US and a bit problematic over here as usual.

It's one of those cars that I'd be interested to own for a little while just to see what they're like so if you don't want to keep it...

Ewwww.

Merkin FWD coupe with vaguely 80s Jap styling. 2.2 litre turbo with less than 150bhp..... WHY!?

Besides, would you *really* want to own something that Rob's had his hands on?

Also there was I think Dodge/Chrysler/Buick/Olds versions of I think either the Talbot Sunbeam or the Talbot Horizon that was fitted.

Is the engine anything like this?

The Chrysler 2.2 motor was fettled by Carroll Shelby

UK Parts might be a bit sparse, but the Daytona was sold in Germany as the Chrysler GS Turbo II, so KrautBay may have some spares.

Other than that, you are looking at importing from the US. Although UK Dodge/Chrysler dealers might be able to help a little as things have gone global. Can't hurt to ask.

As others have said, try your local dealer. :) They may be stupidly expensive... or they may be quite reasonable.

Most certainly in the "cool" camp, because of the heritage and exclusivity of it.

Okay okay so the dashboard may be hard plastic and the cup holders won't have that engineered bit at the top, it'll be slower than a Passat cross country and use five times the fuel and not massage your butt with the powered seats... but...

Yes. Absolutely.
