You get what you pay for.

Cheap, does not mean better value !

No, but it does mean less money. Say you had 5000 quid to spend on a car and running the car, you'll get further buying a 1.0 corsa than a 1.0 Yaris.

1.0 corsa, 02 plate 34k miles £3595, leaving 1405 to spend on running it, which would cover over 13000 miles at 10.22p/m 1.0 yaris, 02 plate 39k miles £3999, leaving 1001, about 9500 miles 10.52p/mile

covering maintenance and fuel but not depriciation and insurance)

To some people, a car is just a car is just a car.

Well, you're right, to a degree. However, if the owner driver cares not for performance, image, handling or whatever, well either will do, yes?

The Corsa has some good points if you don't care for driving!

or going round corners, or living after a crash, or getting anywhere quickly, or looking like a pillock etc etc

The corsa that Fifth gear smashed at 70 into a conrete barrier looked remarkable intact - moreso than the smart.

Obviously NOT the people in question - otherwise this thread wouldn't exist !

But they DO care ! That's why we're having this discussion :)

No.

It's S*IT.

The end.

:)

Every Corsa I've had the misfortune of driving has been capable of going around a corner.

It's just not exactly engaging when doing so.

Given a choice between a Corsa or the Saxo, 106, Cinquecento (and Siecento), I'd rather crash the Corsa.

Okay okay that's a given, but I'd also rather _be_ in the crashed Corsa.

All Corsas are capable of breaking the motorway speed limit.

Like that's ever bothered me!

You're looking at it from the perspective of enjoying getting from A to B. The vast majority of people don't enjoy it in the same way, or they enjoy it because "oh it's such a nice peppy little car" (referring to their 1.2 Corsa)...

If you want adequate room for shagging, you want a transit with a mattress in the back.

i'd expect the smart to disintegrate though.

My point was it's safer inside the yaris.

You know, I though I was the only one who realised this.

as above.

Couldnt agree more.
