Does the panel approve?

Why not, the car tells them what to say, whether it is real readout, or just a min/max scale. It decides what to put on them, whether it is right or wrong. So you would rather see crap all the time instead of some of the time?

Remind me never to take financial advice from you....

It may give you a few quid more in your pocket on a weekly basis, but at the cost of removing money from your savings.

Much better to put less monthy cash into savings and use this to pay for the small extra fuel costs.

It rarely makes sense to change a car for better economy if the car you're buying is going to cost you several hundred, or even thousands out of cash in the bank.

Despite the computer fudging that goes on with modern cars, quite often, by the time the car has decided there's something wrong, it's too late to do anything about it.

I prefer to see my dials and make judgements myself - even the over-damped temp. dial on a VAG will hint at issues way before the car decides there really is something to worry about.

Don't forget the vapour trail advert for the 9-3 wagon where everyone looked at the sky as the jet engined roared past and then they cut the ugly tailed 9-3 V6.

Are it was the Pontiac Trailblazer, dubbed by the wits as Saab Trollblazer. And don't forget the 9-2, which was a Scooby WRX wagon with a Saab nose and interior.

Like aircon, cruise, auto wipers, auto headlamps, electric mirrors etc, all things you don't appreciate until you've used them then got in a car without them.

By reducing glare and attracting attention to a fault or hazard condition by re-illuminating.

The last model Fabia debuted the platform before the Polo which it shared it with.

So is it the Polo platform or the Fabia platform.

Then there's the thought the VAG are about to be snapped up by Porsche.

Does that mean that a Fabia is really a Polo is really a Carrera GT ?

Agreed.

Agreed.

God, no. They're one of the worst inventions of all time.

As are those.

Agreed.

I put the night dash feature up there with auto wipers and headlamps.

That's a tricky one, actually.

I believe it was designed by VW, but could be wrong.

Heh, obviously not. But that's because you won't get any Porsche platforms being used by VW.....

I do find it amusing that people will pay a premium for Toerag with 911 headlamps, though.

I think I may not be qualified to comment as I actually haven't really watched TV since sometime in 2003 and most web advertising is blocked in one way or another on my computers.
