Hello,

worst, car, EVER.

Hey, at least he knows it's not an RS. Or a Turbo.

God, I hate sellers that do that. You're looking for an RS components catalogue for historical reasons, or possibly a NeXT Turbo, and you find a bloody shed of a pikey Cavalier...

Ahem... I still have mine, you c*ut.

I still rate them, if someone wants a reliable family car, that's cheap to fix - rot is the main bug bear.

All Mk III Cavaliers are Pikey Cavaliers. It's not a description, it's the actual model designation from General Motors.

Reaaaaaally?

Whatcha got?

I just collected a NeXT system I've wanted since I were a lad - the printers up the road got it when they were new for running FrameMaker - and it seems that in a fit of skip-madness, they chucked out the Y-cable, mouse and soundbox for the Color Slab. Thankfully apart from a broken mouse (needs a cable - I've frankencabled it to test it worked otherwise) the mono slab works alright...

When the machines were last used in 1996, the bloke wouldn't sell them to me because he wanted to keep them as collector's items. I'm really sad that in the course of expanding the business, the manuals and parts like the cable have been lost :(

Richard (and the laser printer was thrown out. It died, but I would have liked it just for show).

If you hate it that much then report them. It's against ebay rules, as I found out when one of my auctions was cancelled for "search engine manipulation".

I do if it's really OT. I can kinda understand it with cars, but when I search for "Moog" and find "Bontempi 1990s Home Organ NOT Moog" then I can get arsey ;)

Richard (spent today explaining to a man on eBay how much his badly listed NeXT systems were worth, how to get the most money for them, and how to get his data off them. I'd wanted them (since they appeared to be just bare bones units) in the hope of cables and a soundbox, but they were the most complete NeXT systems I've heard of for a while!).

Always wanted a Cube. Just so cool, and so advanced.

Couple of mono turbos, mono screens, keyboards mice and some other stuff I need to sort thru.

I should have some mice knocking about, tho if you find a Logitek bus mouse that can be used. Not sure about Y cables or sound boxes again I'll look.

I think I have manuals and software, I'm off for a week if I remember I'll have a look when I get back (feel free to remind me)

I'm not sure you can get toner now, ours works but is never used.

We had a office full of them, with optical disk drives and all the video goodies, I hate to think how much time we lost playing the pre-release version of Doom on the network.

Shame NeXT evolved into OSX and they broke it :-(

Now I'm thinking of that episode of the Simpsons where Stan Lee makes "The Thing" fit into a nerd's Batmobile.

"broke it, or made it better!"

One day, I'll actually experience a functioning NeXT. I will read newsgroups on it, use the first web browser, and see what the machine was really capable of.

Richard (never had a working NeXT yet - the mono station is nearly there though - but I did have a BeBox when they were new!).

Rob how is it possible to "increase" the looks of a car?
