Unfortunately to me it sounds like the sort of damage you'd get from hitting someone rather than something, hope I'm wrong.

Is there a reason you don't just pay the £1500 to get it fixed, and then you can sell it for £4.5-5k ?

Because my earnings have just taken a significant drop for the time being, and whilst I could *just* afford it, by using cash, and racking everything else up on my credit card, I realistically haven't got the spare cash to do so. Though if I can't get at least £1800 for it as it is, that is what I'll end up doing.

Can you email me a picture, showing the bulk of the damage, in particular where the roof meets the windscreen.

Ta.

I think he is better of cutting his loses with this one if I had the time/money/knowledge I'd probably take it off his hands but I don't :(

Zackly! If I could still drive it'd be getting repaired, it's ma baby! But

2 years is a long time to keep a car and not use it, so it really doesn't make sense. Ideally I'll sell it to someone who'll get it properly repaired (at a fair price relative to repair costs, even if it is less than I'd hoped), who'll look after it and consider selling it back to me in a couple of years' time, but at the end of the day, it's only an Audi A6, it's not like I'm kissing goodbye to a Ferrari Enzo or something - it's rare within its range, but if I look out for long enough I may well find another good one.

Aye, whoever gets it will get a great motor, no doubt about it. Put it this way, I'll almost certainly be looking for another when I'm back on the roads. Well, I say that now - who knows what the future holds? I might strike it rich and never have to worry about fuel costs again, and if that's the case I don't think I'll buy another diesel - 8 cylinders will be poverty spec, 12 "just about enough", 12 with a supercharger getting there, and 16 for the long hauls :-)))

I thought that was you. ;-)

I have been previously described as a cross between Colin Hunt and Bob Fleming (off the Fast Show).

In all seriousness... I've spoken to you on the phone a couple of times in the past... and yes... I agree.

Hehehehe
