after my neighbours son's car rolled into it when he hadn't set his handbrake properly. Still haven't forgiven him :-)

I'd possibly, maybe, consider paying that for a 325iSE Touring in that condition, but a 316??

I had a 3.0Si once - PKS 952L. every one of the 200bhp was there and it made the most amazing noise. Would have one again in a minute.
You wouldn't ever regret having an E3.

My dad had a couple of 'em in about 1977, a 3.0Si and then a 3.3.
I remember the 3.3 as being pretty bloody quick.

That was a great old bucket, £50 for two years of cornering madness in the wet. Handled like a go-kart compared to the old Volvos in the background. :-)
And you know that some Arthur D picked that up for £350 off some unsuspecting old dear!
However, if you look at it in a different way, 3 grand isn't bad for a BMW built, nearly new, budget car ;-)
