UK, Pre-2000, they were all about 210bhp apart from the 270bhp P1.

UK, Post-2000, they are

WRX 220bhp.

WRX STI 260bhp.

And the WR1 has 310bhp.

280bhp for this one. They only made a few though - you're unlikely to ever see one.

No idea about the Jap model specs - but they come in the same low-power (210bhp) and high-power (280bhp) guises as the UK ones.

Think I saw one of those bugger about 4 months ago in Warrington when I=20 had the Saab. Quick, but had to change gear more upto around 90. Kept up=20 well in a =A3300 bucket.

cool. Guess i really need to sort out the fact i'v never driven a Saab :o)

I've driven a lot of cars for my age...but funnily never a saab.

what model would people recomend for breaking my saab virginity?? :o)

Yes, but 4wd, and Imprezas usually need 4th to hit 90, I was still in

3rd, on full boost, and nowhere near the redline :) Tremendous 3rd gear acceleration in a 900 T16. And you can use 3rd from about 25MPH and get boost from about 35.

If you like Old cars, the 900 T16S (or for less overall power the 900 Turbo 8v but more low down torque and still tune well).

If you like slightly more modern, but not cheap ones, the 9000 Aero, or modern, cheaper but not so smooth the 9000 Carlsson 2.3CD.

Have a search for some technical specs of the 9000, the exclusive heated leather power adjust recaros are fantastic to look at.

Do they always fetch money as high as this guys "buy it now" price??

I've always lke the look of classic saab's just never driven one.

That dashboard is amazingly ugly :o) I suppose thats "character" :o)

I like the power figures and the look, 7 seconds to 60 is a bit sluggish but i'm guessing it's the 50-10 thats good here?

I think i want RWD again next but if i find one at the right price i could have one to play with for a few months.

Price is not bad for age, mileage high for age, but not high for a Saab generally.

That is maybe a tad high for an Aero because of the Mileage, but I've=20 seen higher for older.

The dearest one on here

is =A36795 and it is an=20auto, but they aren't as desireable because Maptun the Premier Saab=20tuners in Sweden won't allow the auto models as much torque as the=20manuals.

If you do look at an Auto, make sure it is really an aero, not a Griffin=20 with Aero trim (Griffins where more luxury than sporty, all autos, some=20 with GM V6 engines Bleh, and some with 2.3 Turbo four pots that Saab did=20 so well).

A 9000 2.3 Carlsson isn't a bad car, not quite as powerful, not as=20 smooth, more brutal, bit thirstier on runs, and only has Standard Saab=20 leather seats (still very good), not the very tasty Aero Recaros.

Oh and you can pick up a "Needs a few little jobs" from =A3500-700. A good= =20 one for =A31000-1500 and a minter for arround =A32k.

Lol! your having a laugh!! In gear times or not. I've been in a 300BHP scooby and they are bloody damn quick. Noisy, drink petrol like a bitch, but they shift. Also quicker than the Carrera C2 I drove(the porsche was onwed by a mate of the guy who owned the subaru:-)). Your also saying a saab could keep up with a 320bhp porsche if it's actually trying???

Either there's a *tiny weeny* bit of owner's optimism, or a T16 is a bargain super car eater and we should all go out and buy one and bait all those M3s and scoobies!

"Andy" scoffed:

I've got a mate whos got a Bentley Turbo R. THAT is a car that drinks petrol like a bitch, but shifts.

Have you gotten used to and driven a SAAB T16 in anger? Have you indeed ever been in one?

I think people that own them know that they are. I'd personally rather have a good, 20 year old SAAB over a 20 year old "super" car.

Statistics are touted about how it was the fastest accelerating between 2 speeds production car in the known universe on a straight, dry road ever. Or something.

However, SAAB T16s of the ilk that mr Phwoar is talking about are old, geared differently FWD and not set up to handle like M3s and Imprezas. I don't think its a fair comparison.

My impreza will put 90mph in 3rd. And it is probably 40 hp down on a 22B.

Yep. Subarus are pretty quick. Mine would give my GTR a run for it's money in corners and that is saying something.
