That's not what you were telling Carl (Elder) a month or two ago hehe ;-)
But yea, you're so right, when my dad managed to leave the previous place he worked he changed into a different guy. He was just so quiet and like "meh, whatever" - and me, bro and mum were worried. He'd been made redundant you see, having been there, must be nearly 20 years - and then a couple of months later had to replace him when they realised that there was a job there - shocker eh. He then started working in an office job that he just hated, but he kept doing it till mum managed to virtually force him to quit as he was just a shadow of himself really.
But when he started working for some family friends at their brewery, which was in its early days and has gone from strength to strength. He loves it, basically sorting out the brews, cleaning the tanks, delivering to pubs and shops - whatever really. As they're so busy he's usually home about 6pm, which is an hour an half of overtime everyday so he's actually earning more money now as well heh! And of course there is the odd 'perk' such as product testing a pint at the end of each day, and of course, beers that can't be sold for whatever reason (not quite full, no labels, and various other reasons) that would be going in the bin - and they can't have that hehe. This actually had a positive emotional benefit on the whole family ;-)
