Heh! In fairness, Dervy knew the roads better, and my muppet decision to turn left at the roundabout where everyone else turned right didn't help matters :-)

Now that I'm back to base and have slept on it, I can confirm that the "little wriggle over that big puddle" (you know the one, right in the middle in the S-bend, where I used the hazard warning lamps) was in fact a bit of a "ohitohitohittttt!" moment. Primarily because I'd screwed up, but also because it was right where I was intent on changing direction, too. So after a little hanging out activity (!) and a swift change of direction once all four tyres were back on tarmac . . .

So I decided to let the heavier cars go in front and clear some of the water out of the way.

There were three cars between you guys and me after we pulled off the motorway, including that oaf in the Citroen C15D van, who really wasn't prepared to let this Ka overtake, but was quite content to amble along at 22 mph around the corners!

You had time to turn the harzards on while aquaplaning in the middle of an s bend???

I should say, "yes, doesn't everybody?"

Immediately afterwards, once I'd corrected. :)

Cunning. Where are you hazards? Steering column or radio?

Heh! I wasn't laughing, I was more concerned with Tim running into the side of the Ka, Astravan's mate (in the A6) running into the back of Tim, and the Astravan man (eventually) running into the back of his new Audi. ;)

On the steering column, the radio bit has the Quickclear unit. Tim spotted the hazards, but nobody else did, heh.

When I landed my Fiesta diesel upside down, the first thing I did was switched the hazards on, then I realised I was upside down!

Heh - I wouldn't have been laughing had that happened either (surprisingly!). Fortunately I was so far back at least the Carlton would have stayed out it! And circling that roundabout two or three times was quite amusing!

heh we came off the m18 and I passed someone straight on the a614 - had to back off when I could see no-one in my mirrors...

Booo - drove those roads today, if the meet had been today i woulda been there (coffee table in the back and all).

The last thing you want to do after a "moment" is laugh - it normally gives you a wierd feeling in your stomach, and you start to sweat, and think "S*it, I almost died and/or cost myself a PAPLOAD of money".

That's a serious moment, and they generally result in such things, but brief and caught sideways ness is fun.

Dunno - I didn't notice you ? I had to overtake about a rillion people on the way home, so I was prolly busy doing looking for a gap :)

We prolly did cross over though - from Driffield onwards, we'll have been on the same road.
