Well when you see the above, then yes, it is. I think nothing of hitting 120mph on the local A-roads on maybe every other journey I make (depending on traffic - and we don't really have any long enough straights to go quicker) - but I'd never dare go over a ton on the motorway.
The straights are fine, you need Bigger Power. :)

Not really - my steed is quite capable of reaching an indicated 150mph+.
But I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by bumpy country lanes.
150mph would result in crash-and-die :) The nearest VMax to me, is probably the A64 Malton Bypass. But it's a Dual Carriagway :([...]
Bigger Power means you get there quicker.
Yup, there are very few 140+ roads about. :(
I'm off to Sweden, by way of Germany, in a couple of weeks.
I hope to confirm VMax >= 172mph (5700rpm in top) :)
