O/T Magazine article.

It's about this American fella who likes biofuel. Might be of some interest to some on here.

And if you read the article, here's the Impala giving it to the Lambo:

Not the greatest video, admittedly, but sort of interesting.

I like the twist in jet turbine engines.

Yeah, crazy, eh? Good to see that he's got plans for them super capacitors though.

There is a strong whiff of BS about all that. Turbines are not *that* much more efficient than diesel cycle engines, and the losses in a turbine-dynamo-cap-motor system are quite large, so the idea of this giving you a 3 ton car with 600BHp *and* 60mpg is just fantasy. The hydrogen injection bit is pretty much glossed over, and doesn't really make that much sense either. Self-written PR, anyone?

Turbines are actually less efficient than Otto-cycle engines. A turbine can achieve 60% thermal efficiency but only when used in a combined cycle where the hot exhaust is used to power another cycle such a steam turbine.

A typical single-stage turbine can achieve 46% TE. A typical single stage Otto-cycle engine can achieve 56% TE.

That article was so full of bullshit that he probably runs his cars on the methane that it gives off.

Running a diesel engine on biodiesel makes it silent apparently and General Motors engineers claim that you cant put a diesel in a Hummer. And he's the only person who can do an engine swap on a GM vehicle.

Yeah right.
