In news: snipped-for-privacy@news.individual.net, Elder wittered on forthwith;
Jeez, you must look a show!
Sounds like the ideal excuse to dig out the hair gel and go for a wander around the shopping centre scaring pensioners. Also a good excuse for a pint.
Ah Manga hair gel or as we call it, fruit flavoured PVA glue.
Man, you're such a girl.
I was made redundant last month (leading from the job-hunting bit...), and I had great plans to learn something computerish (marketable assets and all that crap), enrol on a GCSE French course, make some decent speakers for the hi-fi, do lots more exercise and get a better job.
So far I have managed to sleep 18 hours a day, learn to cook some fancy food, done absoloutely no exercise and best of all, visit my friends in Amsterdam and get pissed for a couple of weeks. My life rules.
TBH I reckon you'd have been better having that as the plan to start with. Although you should do the speaker thing.
Having pointlessly massive speakers gives you a nice warm feeling, even if you do live in a bedsit and never get the chance to use them - you COULD do. :-D
My plan (ish) too.
Apart from Amsterdam and getting loads of excercise (walking instead of driving where possible) sounds about right. Made some sweetpotato and butternut squash soup on Wednesday.
Too right mate - 250 RMS & couple of 10" bass drivers per channel. Don't get me wrong, I know small enclosures can do decent bass, but there is definately a discernable increase in quality with a good pair of big 'uns, so to speak.
I would do even if I did live in a bedsit!
I really hate walking, it's just a monumental waste of time in my view. I know a lot of people get a lot of pleasure out of it, but it's just so slow and, well, pedestrian. (Cycling on the other hand, I enjoy).
Not too keen on sweet potatoes and butternut squashes, but whilst I was in Amsterdam, one friend taught me 101 ways to cook cabbage (she's Bavarian, shock). Soup? Leek & Onion, or some sort of broth. Mmm mmm mmm.
I dislike the thought of leaving a Mountain clycle SanAndreas anywhere near Warrington market whe I nip in for the veggies.
I have recently discovered a love of Saurekraut. As a pickle cold and as a vegetable when boiled and served with meat.
I cut my hair #1 with clippers. Couldn't spike it if I tried. : )

A few years ago I helped a friend build a pair of speakers - each had two 10" kef drivers mounted in a coupled-cavity layout (which Kef themselves do now in their reference speakers..), custom 500W power amp built into the enclosure and full braced concrete lining. He's still got 'em - they're ugly as sin, and weight about 60kg each, but by god they sound (or should that be feel?) fantastic. Looks like he's getting wifed shortly, so they may need a new home :-D
