I'd have thought a Bush is much more likely to catch fire than a TV.
I watch TV on a TV - don't watch loads - catch up with a lot of BBC stuff I miss on iPlayer, but watch the odd decent thing on my telly, which is an ok one, but nothing special - Toshiba 21" (I think) CRT jobbie - a mate gave it to me, along with a load of other tat, when he left the country for America.

If it the transformer, it will just packup one day. And yes, ours is a bush too. Not magnificent but pretty clear picture for a cheapy (If I see a modern tft it sometimes seems too sharp to watch compared to the bush which seems to have a depth and warmth), but has enough inputs for the Skybox, the DVD, the VCR and the WII.
