OT: MSN Messenger / Web access on NTL

Anyone else having problems? I have since about half way through yesterday, up until now, though newsgroups and email are absolutely fine?

If it's just me, I guess turning the cable modem off and on (again....) might be an idea.

Try downloading Trillium and logging in with that.

I don't know about the PC version of MSN, but MS have terminally broken the Mac version, most Mac users can't log in to MSN using the MS software these days and are using an alternative.

You mean Trillian? Got that off a mate ages ago, who highly recommended it, and it just refused to log me in, so I gave up on it.

Just done the cable modem reset thing, and it seems to have fixed things, for now at least.

Which cable modem do you have? We had an original C&W Pace STB untill last week, it was flaky at best but when the recent upgrade was done it became as reliable as an Italian. Got it changed to the new Samsung STB and it's been rock steady ever since.

Don't know, it's downstairs, and right now I can't be arsed to look. But we've only been on broadband since February, so it's going to be whatever they were installing at that time, if that helps.

I think he means trillian. MS have a habit of changing the MSN protocol and not telling anyone from time to time. MS versions still work but clones have to wait for a new client version to come out. There's a chance if you downloaded it, let it sit in your PC, then installed it, that you'd have an out of date version?

Personally I CBA with MSN messenger clones.
