Over heating

Dec 11, 2007 1 Replies

I have an 1980 MGB. It had a cataletic converter when new. That was removed long ago. It has always over heated. My late husband was working on trying to eliminate this problem. My car is now torn down and I don't have the slightest idea what he may have had in mind to correct the overheating. I am hoping that someone out there has had success in this area.

At a guess, a new radiator (possibly with a bigger core), a new waterpump, a better cooling fan and the block flushed through. I suspect you're an american (Catalytic convertors on a 1980 car), so you might be better looking on local groups to find out about exactly what parts are popular / available there.
