Reversing Sensors

Yesterday when walking my lad to school I saw one of the school run cars (a Focus) with a DIY parking sensor attached to it's smashed bumper. I wonder whether the sensor was added before or after the prang...

FWIW, I reckon they look crap, with the wires visible etc. I guess you could always drill holes in the bumper and flush mount them with the wires behind and out of sight?

I'd recommend preparing yourself to be told by condescending idiots that you should use your eyes and that's you're not a real man if you want parking sensors, or some similar complete and utter bollocks.

Asked about this yesterday for my E class (which is getting a new rear bumper anyhow) and was quoted some crazy price for the official merc kit of over 700 quid.

Can buy the kits on ebay for 149 quid...

i've driven a few BMWs and Fords at work now with parking sensors. they are useful but i still find i look anyway cos i know anything computer controlled gets s*it wrong :)

Well my rear wheels are driven as well as my front so I must be twice as much a real man. Unless the front wheels cancel the rear wheels out of course :)
