starlet turbo's?

thinking of a starlet turbo if i get a big ban, points and fine for me slight mis-judged speed. there what 1.3 turbo pushing 130bhp? cheap as chips to insure and parts are like WOW cheap compared to my MR2. they do look a bit h*mo though but then the MR2 is a bit of a hairdresser so sod image :)

they look pretty pokey and easily modding, anyone know what kinda boost increase they can take on a stock set up? heard it can run 150bhp safely. just an idea for now as hopefully i won't need to part with the much loved MR2!

Still an import and a performance one at that, still going to cost a fair bit to insure.

Get the court case out of the way, and then you know what you're actually up against.

well yes and yes but doing a quick quote it's £600 less than the MR2 plus

1.3 = cheap tax..... by £65 a year or so i think

IIRC, they're quite cool, and not that slow either - two stage power... you press a button on the dash to get it to give full boost when floored. :-)

For that very reason, I'd recommend a Charade GTti.

If you can find one worth having... and if you do, they fetch loads for what they are, these days.

They're not the most resilient of hot hatches in old age, either.

Retro Cars did an article on them last month. I'd love one for a bit of mountain road lunacy.

In that case, he'll be wanting a Cuore Avanzato.

ISTR they have a 0-60 time similar to the MR2 Turbo.....

And presumably the insurance to go with it, what with it being a grey import as well.

You know what he wants really, don't you... he wants a nice, registered here from new, diesel. ;-)

Not quite, they were a UK model.

Heh.

So I now see...

Ever seen one on the road though???

One of my first cars was a Toyota Corsa GP turbo which was the forerunner to the turbo Starlet. It was a bloody good fun car.

hehe get one of these:

It probably doesn't have much of a top speed, but you could also probably tow a tank...

If that is a hummer behind that paint and chrome, it will go fast enough, it will pull a tank, but idealy should be towing a tanker.

Vamp - get a smart, and don't remove the limiter.

Then when you've had that for a couple of years get something completely off-the-wall with turbos, lots of cylinders, nitrous etc....

Best thing to do with one of those?

Take the back axle and engine out, and put them in a Sera, then throw away that god-awful bodyshell.

Does a Garage Forecourt count? It was only a couple of years old, and it was broken, mind.

Do not solve a problem which is not a problem yett.

Wait till you leave court and panic then. We'll help moaning and giving all kinds of advice for free, so you don't have to worry about its worth.

Cool down and enjoy the day :)
