This newsgroup has become RUBBISH!

Tumbleweeds around here!

Was it DanB, Tom De Moor and SteveH that kept this group going? Because since they passed away/got hounded out it's been so quiet.

Well, I'm trying but I don't think that's enough. Sometimes I think I'd be better off just setting up a car blog instead of posting my shit here...

I miss DanB, I'm sure he'd have had some choice comments about the s**te cars I've been looking at recently.

Nah, it's been going downhill since Tanuki "That's not a medium sized car, that's a Corgi/Matchbox car" the Raccoon dog left ;)

Recession innit? No one has loadsamoney to spend on sheds that they turn into magnificent motoring marvels.

Been spending too much time on the shooting line (2 evenings and a Sunday morning) to think about cars, it helps focus the mind.

That and me and the missus are splitting up, so looking for a mortgage and a house, and the bits needed to setup my own place after 15 years.

SteveH was hounded out? You're partly to blame though too, you used to have interesting cars and now you appear to have become some sort of anti-car sandal-wearing hippy.

Yup. She has pretty much got sick of seeing my boring mug arround. Nobody else, just apathy. Thing is, the fact I can't see anyway of talking her round probably means she is right.

But it didn't help that she had already started working out the figures to see if we could afford a mortgage each and pay off anything we owe.

It will be a fresh clean start, and at 40, and 33 we are both young enough to get on with a life.

I missed that too, I just thought he'd given up on cars after being railroaded into his pious ....

Nah, she bought me the beginners archery course for my birthday, and she has discovered, the couple of evenings a week when I'm out, she actually prefers the solitude and the peace and quiet, and she can get things done when I'm not about.

Ah yeah, I noticed your facebook status had changed but didn't wanna probe...

Sounds like you don't want it either... Probably better off with a clean start as you say, rather than just hanging around getting pissed off with each other, then one of you cheats and you've got to go through all that s**te...

Is he still posting somewhere? Maybe he gave up on life due to it?

He's (very) occasionally posting over on UKRM.

I was happy as things were, and everyone else thought things were OK too. My family, her family, her mates, everyone was shocked. But while I can ask her to reconsider, I can't force her to stay together and I can't see the point of getting petty and pissy. We aren't married, no kids and neither of us has a vast fortune to fight over.

Once I had accepted it was going to happen whether I liked it or now, it it exciting as well as scary.
