if you did it properly and kept the rolling radius the same via correctly matching the tyres then no you wouldnt, but I just reckon it would look nicer dropped 30mm, which aint a huge amount. wouldnt cost much either.

Er, we did do that. 205/55R16 are the stock tyres, and I'm now running

215/45R17 - a difference of approximately zero :)

Agreed. But it would then handle like shit, on an average lumpy UK road, as all lowered cars do.

Lowering is for smooth racetracks, not lumpy country lanes - you need all the suspension you can get.

I can get 20mm lowering springs then, car manufacturers allways compromise between comfort and performance, and 20mm wouldnt sacrafice too much of one for the other.
