Or try to :-) Last time I rode a Vmax I wouldn't have liked to try to take pics going fast.. handling? What handling? :-) Fun though...

I think VMAX in this case refers to Autobahn foot on the floor, as fast as an Alpina will go.

Yeah, I normally try and time cross continental trips so my germany time is off-peak, normally after 11pm...

Don't forget to factor in tyre growth.

You needed a gps or road angel thingy, they are pretty accurate!

Ermm... I've seen a road angel creep the wrong side of 180 on the M1....

... I sure hope it was lying!

Awesome :) I'm still showing pride from getting the GPS to show 3 figures in the 405 :-)

The A7 was fairly quiet all the way, 7ish onwards - rarely needed to drop below 110ish and probably averaged close to 120. Holland to Hamburg was mostly busy, with little chance to get much over 120 and quite a lot of bunching at 65-75, especially on the speed limited sections...

Fog kept speeds down on the way back, by way of the Rødbyhavn/Puttgarden ferry rather than the A7.

Hmmm, I wonder if it's significant...

I *want* to have been over 170mph.

GPS generally under reads, at top speed. They lag behind when speed is changing, but don't usually exceed actual.
