2007 Instrument Panel Visibility

After a recent test drive, the only thing not to like was the hard-to-read gauges. Is there any workaround to get a brighter instrument panel? The model I drove didn't have the interior upgrade, so does that help? Any chance it will be addressed in the 08s?

Thanks!

I agree.......the gauges are one the worst things about my '06 with the MyColor dash........gauges are set so deep, VERY hard to read in daylight (with MyColor, gauges light up with white markings when engine in running but lights off).......a little easier to read with lights on

- I have MyColor set to brightest blue......very often I have to turn lights on during day just to read guages.......still impossible to read small guages, radio, info center with top down. very poor design and dangerous.......but they've been making them that way for 3 years and haven't heard of proposed improvements.

Mine is only tough to read when I turn my lights on in the daytime. It did help that I turned the brightness all the way up, though sometimes when I turn the lights on around dusk it's near impossible to read the gauges/radio.

With the top down there is a flat piece which, altough dark like the rest of the dash, reflects in a place that completely obscures the center panel of gauges. Other than that and the distracting task of staring for an inordinate length of time in order to see the tach or speedometer, the design is perfect (2006). A perfect example of Head-in-the-wrong-place decision-making.

Have a 2005 and same problem...head-in-wrong-place-designing...... like the car but sometime feels like driving in the dark with no lights, good luck on checking gauges..........

I too have a hard time seeing the gauges... I have an 2005 with out the interior upgrade... I picked up an MSD Dashhawk back in the spring... It basically lets you monitor the car's computer. I usually have mine set to display:

MPH Intake temp Engine Coolant Temp Timing Advance

I've got it set over in the corner of the dask and is very easy to read. I find that I don't even uses the car's gauges... I simply use the Dashhawk (except for the gas gauge).
