Hey Gang,
So basically I am trying to clean up the engine compartment and free up all the crap that is in my way. So my question to you guys and gals are as follows:
do i need that "filter thing" that is on the passenger side of the car in the front..it's a black square looking plastic box...has several rubber hoses coming out of it...I have absolutely No ida what it is or does....and I cannot find it in any of my books...on these hoses, there are what seems to me as sensors, that have electrical connections to them...can I remove these as well and will it cause any problems for me?
My second question is, I just swapped out my old intake and carb (original ford) for an Edelbrock Performer RPM and a silver series carb( 1406 ). My question is this. on my original Intake, there were two connections (plastic) in the rear of the intake..they have a 3 line connection into both of them...Do I need these..cuz On the edelbrock Intake, there is only a position for one unit....can I ignore these all together.??? and to top it all off, i have to re-run my fuel line, cuz it's not in the same spot and the original holley that was on the car!
third question: the carb is not a direct swap.....the throttle linkages are not the same...can someone direct as to how the hell i am supposed to connect my throttle cable to this new carb when the freaking lines don't line upand on my throttle cable it has a snap in type connection and I do not see anything of the sort on the edelbrock. I am getting very annoyed with these changes....all my references are coming from you guys and whatever other literature I can pick up. I tried to go to a local spped shop and the guy was NUTS I tell ya NuTS....wanted to charge me 50$ just to look at the carb to see if he could fix my problems..I was like GET THE F*** OUTTA HERE.....
okay guys and gals.....if anyone feels like helping a poor soul out.....I have all kinds of digital pictures of these headaches and I really need help!
Thanks for reading
Rick
