Cruise Night Musings

I'm at the local gathering last night. Happens just about every Sat night here in Colorado Springs. Anywhere from 30-100 great looking vehicles show up and hang out in the parking lot. Great way to spend a couple hours. Anyway, I happen to notice something very interesting. There were two similar vehicles parked next to each other. One was a brand new red Rousch Racing Mustang. Washed, waxed, polished - great looking car. Next to it was a '68 fastback Mustang. Completely rebuilt, beautiful red paint, nice looking small block. A splash of chrome but nothing special, fancy, or custom. Essentially a very nice stock vehicle. Guess which car had the crowd around it? Not the new $35K one. What does it mean? Many things, I guess. But I thought it was an interesting.

Also, I happened to be over at the Ford dealer buying parts. Just for fun decided to take a gander at the new Mustangs. I really like the looks of the Mach I, and love the performance/handeling specs of the Cobra. But I don't think I'll be trading my FFR Cobra or my '66 in any time soon. Maybe when the '05s come out, but I doubt it.

Yip. My '67 took a lot more attention than my current 93. A lot more. But that was in the mid 90s - I no longer have the 67. Doh! But now, as the

5.0s get rare, and nice stock cars are very difficult to find, I notice that my 93 is getting more attention. Maybe someday I'll have it parked next to a 2018 Cobra and people will be all over it??? Either way, I'd have one of each if I could. :)
